Tell us about yourself and what you create...
I'm a hairdresser by trade and have always loved making/creating things with my hands and have always loved colour. I'm a do it girl, like to get in their and give things a go!
When did you know you first wanted to be a designer?
I started by just making things around the house, making my own clothes and i got so many queries about making things for other people, I started getting people ordering things for themselves that was back in 2004/2005 and the clothing was before that, sheesh time flys.
What inspires you to be creative?
Honestly everything from walking along the beach, strolling through lane ways, looking at different shapes of buildings, history, music, wine {giggling cheekily} people in my world the list could go on.
Describe your perfect day...
Sun shining on my face, barefoot, music, being surrounded by people I love, either at the beach or in a beautiful park.
What is your best ever creative moment?
Not sure if I've had one best ever moment, but I have a few highlights that makes it worth it, I had a young girl few years ago who came to the markets and loved a canvas to buy for her mum, she didn't have enough money, she came back twice holding what money she had asking different prices to see if she had enough for something else, I let her choose what she wanted and whatever money she had was fine but the smile on her face and her saying thank you was priceless.
Describe a lesson you learnt from creative failure...
Hehehehe my husband would laugh at me!!!!! Not to rush things, some things you need to take time doing.
What's the scariest movie you have ever seen?
The ring!!!!!! {don't ever watch it}
What's your favourite childhood book?
I loved Heidi.
What's the best advice anyone ever gave you?
So many things I could say!!!!! Was given some great advise but wasn't into listening as a teen, but along the way you start understanding why you were given advise etc. One that I often do if I'm feeling overwhelmed or feeling out of my depth is to remember to take a step back and just breathe.
What's your favourite tunes to get you in the creative mood?
Music is my thing, i was bought up with it, and i love singing my heart out any music with a good tune gets me feeling creative, from Jemi to six 60 to Katie perry whatever takes me lorde, flume this list could go forever hahahaha.
