The completely unprecedented weather event we are currently experiencing on the Mornington Peninsula is something that we have not seen in 10 years of events.
The rainfall the Balnarring area received on Monday was the heaviest we have experienced so far this year. With nearly 50mls in a day it decimated the Emu Plains Reserve roadways, carpark and market grounds. We were hoping with all our hearts that we wouldn't get anymore rain before Saturday and the sunshine and wind would work wonders but we have since received another 10mls with more on the way (including on Saturday) which unfortunately has sealed our fate of being unable to access the grounds safely for the November market.
We would love to take this opportunity to thank all our amazing visitors and stallholders for supporting us all the way with our incredibly hard decisions and cannot wait to be back #underthestringbarks again with you when it is once again safe (and dry!) to do so. Bring on December 17!!!!
Ness, Joel and the EPM team xo
PS - you can catch loads of our amazing stallholders at our sister market @littlebeautymarket NEXT Saturday for a very special Christmas event in conjunction with @frankstonchristmasfestival 5pm to 10pm. Hope to see you there!
